Main purpose of power cores is to raise the TPA (Total Power Amount) back to your ships maximum. The TPA is the battery capacity of your ship and is lowered "passively" by many modules.
However some power cores positively affect the PRI and PRT, too. The PRI divided by the PRT results in the amount the TPA is being recharged per second.

Capacitors increase the Power Recharge Increment (PRI) of a ship and additionaly reduce the Power Recovery Time (PRT). PRI divided by the PRT results in the recharge rate.
E.g. if a ship has a 1550 PRI and a PRT of 0,5 it recharges 3100 GW/s. A GX R3 T1 2x2 (as of time of writing) increases the PRI to 1650 while reducing the PRT to 0,45. Thus the recharge is 3666,66 GW/s.

Transformers affect the power parameters differently than expected from their description. They actually increase the power draw, however als apply the same bonus to the Power Recharge Increment (PRI).
Since most base Power Recovery Time (PRT) of ships are 0,5 the end-result is a recharge bonus double as high as the additonal power draw. Which basically is the same reduction the power draw.
However if you affect the RR (e.g. by capacitors) the recharge bonus will be more than double and thus you can get more out of the modules than described

The benefit of super conductors highly depends on the PRI value, since they negatively affect the PRI while positively affecting the PRT. PRI divided by the PRT results in the recharge rate.
Thus these modules provide more benefit the higher the PRI value is (e.g. via transformers) since then the flat PRI deduction is insignificant, while the percentage applied to the PRT has full effect.
For small ships the flat power draw reduction may also provide a sizable bonus.

Example I (Vanilla Warbird): PRI = 1550 GW, PRT = 0.5, thus Recharge is 3100 GW/s; Adding a CP3 T1 reduces the Recharge to 2941,18 GW/s!
Example II (Vanilla Warbird + Apotheosis 99 T1): PRI = 2050 GW, PRT = 0.5, thus Recharge is 4100 GW/s; Adding a CP3 T1 increases the Recharge to 4117,65 GW/s.
